Runescape as well as Outriders aren't the only two games that gamers will imagine playing in tandem and so having an Runescape player address r/Outriders may be a bit of a shock. This led to a wholesome post and interaction between players of either or both games . All of it comes to a single former Jagex employee: David Osborne, otherwise popularly known within the Runescape community as Mod Osborne.
Osborne recently posted on LinkedIn that he's decided to leave Jagex after fifteen years of editing content as well as narrative design and lead design. He took the decision in order to "test his skills in the other industry." Osborne is leaving Jagex and moving straight to Square Enix on the publishing side, as a Senior Designer. The new role will include overseeing "some amazing games" starting with Outriders.
This reveal led Redditor FatNWackyRS to reach out to users on r/Outriders to send a message about Mod Osborne who he described as the "warm and welcoming "Dad" face of Jagex." FatNWackyRS describes everything that Osborne has been doing for the community over the years, with a focus on clips, like playing the role of Mod Elfborne to help promote Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape) or joining livestreams as well as assisting in the company's vision.
Although some communities or players would be upset about losing a prominent company image, FatNWackyRS invited other Runescape players to share their experiences. One participant, for instance, feels like they've been both winners and losers in their time playing at both Runescape and Outriders. Others were excited at this announcement, and some even were not familiar with Osborne before, thanks to the glowing praise from one of the Runescape community.
Indeed, exactly what will happen on his part of the Outriders fence is yet to be seen, but fans know a lot of positive things are expected to come in the coming years to this game. Outriders' Worldslayer expansion is scheduled to be announced this spring . It's scheduled to release for this year as well as beyond. People Can Fly has a number of other projects that are in development, including another game that will be developed with Square Enix. If Osborne will be involved in this, however, is still to be determined.
